Protection Against Solid Objects (IP1X - IP6X)

Ingress Protection (IP) 1X Testing

IP-1X testing ensures that enclosures provide protection against accidental access to hazardous parts with objects ≥ 50 mm in diameter, safeguarding users from unintentional contact with live or moving components. At ELENERGY, we perform IP-1X testing using the Sharadatronic Access Test Probe A, strictly in line with national and international standards including IS 13779:2020, IS 16444 (Part 1:2015 & Part 2:2017), IS 14697:2021, IS 15884:2010, IEC 62052-11:2020, IEC 62053 (21/22/23/24:2020), and IS/IEC 60529:2001, ensuring reliable compliance for manufacturers of meters, electrical devices, and industrial equipment.

Ingress Protection (IP) 2X Testing

IP-2X testing checks whether an enclosure can stop fingers or similar objects (greater than 12.5 mm in diameter) from reaching dangerous parts inside. This level of protection is important for everyday safety, especially in products that might be handled directly by users. At ELENERGY, we use the Sharadatronic Access Test Probe 2 to carry out IP-2X assessments, following recognized Indian and international standards such as IS 13779:2020, IS 16444 (Part 1:2015 & Part 2:2017), IS 14697:2021, IS 15884:2010, IEC 62052-11:2020, IEC 62053 (21/22/23/24:2020), and IS/IEC 60529:2001. This ensures your equipment meets compliance requirements while giving end-users confidence in its safety and reliability

Ingress Protection 3X Testing

IP-3X testing ensures that enclosures protect users from access to hazardous parts with tools, thick wires, or similar objects larger than 2.5 mm, offering a higher level of safety compared to IP-1X and IP-2X. This is especially important for devices that may be used in industrial or semi-public environments where accidental contact is more likely. At ELENERGY, we conduct IP-3X testing using the Sharadatronic Access Test Probe C, following trusted Indian and international standards such as IS 13779:2020, IS 16444 (Part 1:2015 & Part 2:2017), IS 14697:2021, IS 15884:2010, IEC 62052-11:2020, IEC 62053 (21/22/23/24:2020), and IS/IEC 60529:2001, ensuring that your products meet safety compliance and instill confidence in end-users.

Ingress Protection (IP) 4X Testing

IP-4X testing ensures that enclosures can keep out most small objects, like wires or tools larger than 1 mm, while still protecting users from accidental contact with hazardous parts. This makes it ideal for products that may be handled in workplaces or public areas where exposure to dust or foreign objects is more likely. At [ELENERGY, we carry out IP-4X testing using the Sharadatronic Access Test Probe D, following Indian and international standards such as IS 13779:2020, IS 16444 (Part 1 & 2), IS 14697:2021, IS 15884:2010, IEC 62052-11:2020, IEC 62053 (21/22/23/24:2020), and IS/IEC 60529:2001, helping you ensure your products are both safe and compliant.

Dust Ingress Testing

Ingress Protection 5X, 6X

The dust chamber uses a blower to circulate talcum powder in suspension, simulating conditions specified in IS/IEC 60529 for testing IP5X and IP6X rated electronic devices. A viewing window with a wiper allows monitoring of specimen conditions inside the chamber.

Protection Against Water (IPX1 to IPX6)

Ingress Protection X1,X2

According to IS/IEC 60529 with the latest amendments, the drip box verifies the protection level against vertically falling water for IPX1 and at a 15° angle (achieved by tilting the turntable). Electronic devices resistant to dripping water (IPX1) are exposed to artificial rainfall at 3mm/min for 10 minutes, falling from a height of 200 mm above the device. No harmful effects from vertically dripping water should occur when the enclosure is tilted up to 15° from its normal position.

Ingress Protection X3,X4

The oscillating tube, with a maximum radius of 800 mm and 52 nozzles spaced 50 mm apart, performs IPX3 and IPX4 tests as per IS/IEC 60529 with the latest amendments. It oscillates vertically across the test sample for IPX3 (120° total) and IPX4 (almost 360°), with oscillation times of 4 seconds and 12 seconds respectively. The equipment allows for blocking nozzle holes as needed for conducting both tests.

Ingress Protection X5,X6

The equipment is suitable for testing jet-proof luminaires (IPX5 & IPX6) to assess ingress of high-pressure water. It includes a rotating system with motor/pump, pressure control valves, pressure gauge, and two nozzles. The height-adjustable stand supports the nozzle assembly for precise positioning during testing.
